New York, Just Like I Pictured It
Storytelling

What was your experience of arriving in New York? What did it feel like when you got your first glimpse of the skyline?

We hosted an evening of live comedy and true stories about arriving in New York City to make it—barely or in grand style—and the sadness (or relief!) that comes with the realization that it may be time to move on. Host David Martin’s performance project Nights of Our Lives gathered some of the funniest writers in New York to tell their tales of arrival, defeat, triumph, and wonder.

Participants: Ophira Eisenberg, host of NPR’s and WNYC’s game show Ask Me Another; David Martin, Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater; Jim O’Grady, transportation reporter for WNYC and contributing storyteller for This American Life and The Moth; Adam Wade, 20-time MOTH StorySLAM champion.
