Sara Grant, Program Leadership Council Co-Chair

Sara Grant, AIA, LEED AP, is a partner at Murphy Burnham and Buttrick Architects where her work spans a diverse mix of project types, including cultural, institutional, educational, and residential work. Skilled at the design and management of complex projects, she brings a creative approach to spatial programming and strong design sensibility to all her work. Sara has led a collaborative design process with clients including the Landmarks Preservation Commission, Rodeph Sholom School, Brooklyn Heights Montessori School, The Diller Quaile School of Music, and Meeting Street. Her firm is responsible for the recent restoration of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City and the current renovation of Park Avenue Synagogue.

Sara holds a Master in Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis. She has served as a guest critic at the University of Pennsylvania and contributed written work to periodicals including  School Planning & Management, Structural Engineering and Design and Not Not Architecture. Sara’s work has received numerous design awards and been featured in design exhibitions.  She also serves as co-chair of AIANYC’s Committee on Architecture for Education.
