Liz DeWolf has a background in urban sociology with a research focus on public space and inclusive urban governance. Prior to joining Van Alen, Liz attended the MSc City Design and Social Science program at the London School of Economics on a Fulbright Postgraduate Award, and her dissertation examined the influence of urban activism in Istanbul on planning negotiations between the municipality and civil society. Liz received her BA in sociology and visual studies at Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and she subsequently moved to Istanbul where she conducted research on grassroots urban activism and participated in the Making City Istanbul project for Istanbul’s 2012 Design Biennial.
