Van Alen Book Club April 2018: 10:04 by Ben Lerner

10:04 by Ben Lerner

This April, join Van Alen Book Club as we delve into Ben Lerner’s meta-fictional novel 10:04. We’ll follow the life and trials of the book’s unnamed, 33-year-old narrator as he juggles love, art, illness, and the prospects of his future, with New York City as both protagonist and backdrop. We’ll follow his urban interactions—whether chatting with his agent along the High Line, or digesting a heart-wrenching story from a stranger at the Park Slope Food Co-Op—and consider the context and pace of the city as a shelter for complex experiences, and meaningful connections.

The discussion was moderated by Jay Deshpande.
