Life in the Bike Lane: Bike Brooklyn
Bike Tour

Forty years in the making, nearly 1,000 miles of bike paths, lanes & greenways wend their way through New York City. Brooklyn has most of them–over 300 miles worth—fitting as it is the birthplace of the country’s first bike path, Ocean Parkway, which opened in 1894. Participants of all ages and skills are invited to join this 3-4-hour bike tour that aims to show that pedal power is here to stay. Ride through 15 bike lane miles and explore Brooklyn’s changing neighborhoods as only a biker can, from the historic and newly redeveloped Brooklyn Navy Yard to the majestic Soldiers and Sailors Arch of Grand Army Plaza, to the peninsula of Red Hook and the serene Brownstone-lined streets of Brooklyn Heights.
