On Monday, March 7, Van Alen Institute’s International Council and the international architecture and design festival MEXTROPOLI present “Inhabiting the City: Global Communities and Urban Space,” a Spanish/English panel discussion on the complex impacts between humans and their built environments. Panelists will explore questions like: How can we define impacts in relationship to the built environment? Is impact measurable? Is it spatial? Is it social?

They’ll discuss their first lines of research when beginning a project in a new city, and consider the role of equity and citizenship in the relationship between city dwellers and their urban spaces.

Participating in the panel are Van Alen International Council members:

Kai-Uwe Bergmann, Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG)
Kim Herforth Nielsen, 3XN
Carla Swickerath, Studio Libeskind
Sasa Radulovic, 5468796 Architecture
Hana Kassem, Kohn Pedersen Fox
