Featuring wind and percussion jazz musicians in meditative sets, solo artists interact with Ekene Ijeoma’s immersive art installation Breathing Pavilion. Designed to promote interconnectedness and self-reflection, Breathing Pavilion offers a safe and peaceful sanctuary at a time when many have experienced hardship or loss.

Featured artist: Baba Donn Babatunde | Percussion

For decades, in-demand percussionist Baba Donn Babatunde has performed with many major American dance companies in the world’s greatest performing-arts venues. His vast and varied recording career includes the jazz idiom, rhythm and blues, and most African-derived percussion styles, and he is a featured member of the esteemed Last Poets. He has long been acknowledged as one of New York City’s master teachers of African Drumming and the rhythms of the Diaspora in the Americas, having been on faculty at the Harlem School Of the Arts for over 25 years, teaching students from four years of age to adults.
