Omar is an Associate Principal at SHoP, leading some of the firm’s largest mixed-use projects. Omar received a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs in 2012 and a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute in 2003. He is currently managing a 5-year on-call contract with the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations for the US State Department. He co-led the design of Uber’s global headquarters in San Francisco and visioning exercise to re-imagine Penn Station and a New Madison Square Garden for The Municipal Art Society of New York. Omar is responsible for the firm’s development of new markets abroad, including a master planned urban development of 5 towers, retail, and public space totaling 2.3 million sf of development in the heart of Tijuana, Mexico.
