Awesome architectural institute, Van Alen (the people who brought you the Match- Maker sculpture in Times Square this past Valentine’s Day) are holding their Spring Party tonight. I’m sure it will be a blast (get tickets here), but what is really special is their online auction. Rather than peddling a bunch of paintings (which is great, but not everyone is into all art), they are auctioning off experiences. Get a home-cooked Milanese dinner with MoMA senior curator Paola Antonelli, a helicopter ride with Iwan Baan (!), and cocktails with Richard Meier. ARCHITECTURE NERDS DREAM!!!! I love this idea, but I’m not surprised that the innovators at Van Alen Institute are offering something different to raise funds. I’ll be there! (Busy night tonight!)
