FLATIRON—In the midsts of summer, thinking about winter feels good. At least that’s what the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership and Van Alen Institute are banking on: the group has announced the first Flatiron Plaza Holiday Design Competition, in which designers and architects will propose dynamic structures for installation in front of the Flatiron building for the 2014 winter season.
