#LoveTimesSquare: If my local CVS is any indication, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Can that possibly be true? (This editor hasn’t taken down his Christmas tree.) Times Square appears to be getting in the February 14 spirit. Times Square Arts and the Van Alen Institute have announced the winner of the2014 Times Square Valentine Heart—a public installation having to do with love or romance or some such. This year’s winner is the Brooklyn-based design studio Young Projects, who, with Brooklyn-based fabricator Kammetal, will be assembling a very pink sculpture on Father Duffy Square between 46th and 47th Streets. “Match-Maker” asks visitors to line up along the sculpture at points corresponding to their Zodiac symbols and then peer at one another through periscopes. Be warned.
