The Van Alen Institute is now accepting applicants to its Opportunity Space international design-build competition. Opportunity Space calls for multidisciplinary teams to create a buildable public space “hub” promoting education, social inclusion, and job assistance programs for both new and established residents near the area of Enskifteshagen Park in Malmö, Sweden. The competition comes in light of a rapid influx of refugees and asylum seekers to the city, whose residents, both new and old, now face intensified challenges securing both employment and positive social integration.
