As a Van Alen member, you are invited on a private exploration of Brooklyn Bridge Park’s newest additions, Pier 2 and Pier 4 Beach. Brooklyn Bridge Park President Regina Myer will guide us through the design process with a presentation of the park model, and discuss how the park’s commitment to waterfront access and sustainability shaped the project. We’ll travel down to the water’s edge at Pier 4 Beach, which was built from the remains of a railroad float transfer bridge and will soon feature a stunning bird habitat. We’ll then head to Pier 2 to see the park’s second active recreation pier, which features five acres of basketball, shuffleboard, handball, bocce courts, fitness equipment, and a full-size roller staking rink.
