As part of IdeasCity, join Van Alen for Crossroads Conversations, a public program that invites passersby to participate in spontaneous 10-minute conversations. At a time of heightened political polarization, Crossroads Conversations encourages strangers from across the nation and around the globe to reveal multifaceted personal beliefs, provoke robust debate, and find common ground with people who may share differing perspectives in a vibrant public space.
Take part on Saturday, September 16 at the steps on the northern edge of Sara D. Roosevelt Park for talks on the future of the city facilitated by editor Vanessa Quirk. Participants can sign up on-site to join a brief moderated conversation with a stranger about their thoughts on the topic, or listen in on the live dialogue. The conversations will be held 1:30pm – 2:30pm.
This event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is not required.
IdeasCity is an initiative of the New Museum to address challenges and opportunities arising in urban reconstruction.
